One great thing about being a small school for our alumni is our alumni know who to contact when they have a question. And they already have a relationship with us because we're so young. Our alumni when they're looking to hire someone generally wants to hire alumni of the school. So they will also say, "I want someone with two or three years of experience that is a graduate of the school" because they know the quality of education they're getting.
Starting when other students are in law school, we try to help them to build their networks, both with legal employers and with other attorneys as best as we can. After they graduate, we also support them in that and we frequently are involved in Bar associated patient events and other activities with our alumni hand with other attorneys in the Knoxville area.
Since graduating from LMU, I've been practicing as a staff attorney for a federal agency here in Knoxville, I practice employment law, and mostly employment litigation as an LMU grad, the career services office and all of the administration is still very much open to working with you. I have a very good relationship with the Career Services offices and with the Dean of Students, even though I'm no longer a student. And so anytime I may need some help or may want to network or if they would like me to talk with other students to maybe help out someone who would like to know more about what I do and my process, you know, that's always welcomed. The door has always been open to me and I really appreciate that.
We have a robust externship program, we will play students out in the loop need to learn legal skills at different legal offices, judges, law firms, a lot of these placements occur through our alumni. So that kind of fosters that relationship. We have alumni that are working in small cell offices or they sort of themselves we have alumni that are working for the Department of Justice. So we have people in a variety of different areas doing different things right now.
