One of the reasons you should choose LMU is because we value an individual perspective. you'll feel comfortable in seeing other people that look like you, but also being able to relate to their experiences. And you'll find that many people of varying ages may live in different parts of the country, but they have the same educational experience or life experiences that you have.
Primarily, the law school focuses on preparing students for the bar exam, but we also prepare students really a family law, criminal law torts, personal injury, small business law, wills and trusts and a little bit of immigration. And so those are kind of really our focus areas. We don't try to be all things to all people, but I think that's what attracts people to law school who are genuine, authentic and again, what to want to be able to help students achieve what it is they want to achieve. It was super important for me to come visit the campus. actually see how I'd be living for the next three years.
And so that's something that you may think you know, based on, you know, what you think you know about Knoxville or what you think you know about Lamu already, but it's nothing like actually visiting, meeting the students, meeting the faculty and the professors that will be teaching you. If there's one thing that I could recommend to students who are coming to LMU is that Knoxville actually has a Knoxville Bar Association program.
I was able to get connected with a judge in the community and many of my peers got connected with judges and attorneys in Knoxville and I think it's super important, even if you're not exactly sure where you want to practice after law school. It's so important to get connected with professionals now, and you never know who they may know and who they can connect you with and what kind of experience you can get from them.
